Associated Food Stores
AFS, headquartered in Salt Lake City, UT, is a cooperatively owned wholesale distributor to almost 500 supermarkets in an eight state region. They coordinate warehouse distribution and transportation, store engineering and development, as well as retail marketing and advertising. AFS was originally organized in 1940 as a way for smaller stores to compete with larger chains.
AFS tasked ZAACT with replacing a poorly organized, outdated, difficult to navigate extranet, and migrating their system from Office 365 to SharePoint 2013 on premise. Users of varying expertise regularly contribute content, making ease of use a priority. The StoreLink redesign needed to allow customers to easily locate resources, order products and interact with corporate.
After the initial migration, we started with a card sort to determine basic information architecture, and prioritized content to improve user experience. We simplified the layout so that users could quickly access the documents, products and resources relevant to their job role. ZAACT transformed StoreLink into a user-friendly, intuitive hub for employees, vendors, and customers.
